Welcome and thank you for visiting.
I am a NYC based director of music videos, commercials, branded content and narrative short films.
I grew up in Syracuse, NY, well known for overcast skies and cold, snowy winters that form the backdrop of most of the memories of my young life.
I started skateboarding back when it was still a crime. Skateboarding led to punk rock - specifically straight-egde hardcore with its positive attitude, DIY spirit and super aggressive music. We started bands, created record labels, had records pressed, printed t-shirts and hosted shows in any available VFW hall, basement or shitty club. We toured the US in busted vans. Around that time, Syracuse was a hot spot for the straight-edge hardcore scene.
Those days feel like they were a lifetime ago, but the spirit of making something yourself for yourself remains.
When I first started in filmmaking, I saw Michel Gondry (a huge influence) give a talk about creativity at the Apple Store. His advice was to make your own entertainment, make the things that you want to see. That's what I've always done.
Finally, the picture above is of a bronze statue of an athlete found in a villa in the town of Herculaneum that was buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius along with Pompeii. It looks surprisingly a lot like me.
