NOTHING
Eaten By Worms

music video

Philadelphian shoegazers Nothing won wide-spread acclaim with their gauzy 2014 debut Guilty of Everything, earning positive comparisons to Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine and their atmospheric ilk; now the band is set to release its follow-up, the even more feedback- and tear-soaked Tired of Tomorrow. The album is a dark, otherworldly affair, as is the video for new song 'Eaten by Worms,' which explores the realm between life and death, reality and dream.

'The song is very much about being in pain and dancing with the feverish curiosity of whether this life is any more significant then what comes after or what came before,' says Nothing singer-guitarist Dominic Palermo, who co-wrote the clip with Kevin Haus. 'It's very much about letting go.'

'Kevin and I began to develop a story around these concepts. Kevin was interested in writing something about how we're all connected by the tragic in life and our inherent need to make sense of it all. We talked about an incident I had in Oakland and common experiences of being in the hospital on demerol, morphine, anesthesia, anxiety meds and a host of other painkillers. I was basically taking the same medication cocktail that killed Michael Jackson. We immediately latched on to MJ's mythological, Hermes-like being and his obsession with lost youth and Peter Pan, as well as the tragedy of his own life. Our take was that from tragedy arises this simple innocent that's led into the unknown.'
